I get energy from creating unforgettable experiences that truly stay with people. Especially when I do this together with colleagues, partners, and clients, and see how ideas come to life step by step.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
In collaboration, I am particularly inspired by personal moments: catching up, laughing together, and getting to know each other better. The best results often emerge from a foundation of trust, openness, and a pleasant atmosphere.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
The Marques Annual Conference in The Hague is the one that has stayed with me the most. It was incredibly enjoyable and educational to work together with the entire organization to make this project a success. Ultimately, our strength lay in how well we were attuned to one another.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy discovering new places. I also try to visit a new restaurant at least once a month, usually in Amsterdam.

What gives you energy in your work?
Developing custom concepts and perfectly translating my clients’ vision and ideas into the possibilities within a destination is what drives me in my work. I gain energy from events that are executed to perfection, and even more so when I see my clients and their guests leave the Netherlands with a broad smile.

In collaborating with colleagues and clients, I find it important that everyone works from their own strengths. It is precisely when everyone’s expertise comes together that something special is created and everything falls seamlessly into place.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my spare time, I discover the world through my kitchen and enjoy cooking dishes from other cultures. This way, I get to taste a little more of the world at home. And a fun fact: I live on a houseboat in the historic city center of a beautiful Dutch city.

It is precisely the dynamics of the profession, where you have to be able to switch gears quickly and be prepared for unexpected situations, that makes it extra challenging and fun for me. That ultimately makes a successful project all the more rewarding.
What inspires you in your collaboration with colleagues or clients?
In collaborating with colleagues and clients, I find mutual respect and open communication very important. I enjoy working together because you can learn so much from each other. I gain a lot of knowledge and insight from experienced colleagues, while I can contribute my own creativity and sense of current trends. It is precisely by combining different areas of expertise that the best ideas are born. In collaborating with clients, I find it important to understand exactly what they have in mind, so that I can translate this into a creative and fitting concept that aligns with their wishes.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and meeting up with friends. I love a good party, but I enjoy a relaxing evening on the couch with a good series just as much. Additionally, I enjoy being in the kitchen and my favorite things to make are Italian pastas. I also have a great passion for traveling and organizing. That is exactly why I enjoy seeing these interests reflected in my work and being able to combine them on a daily basis.

What gives you energy?
I thrive on variety, new challenges, and working with passionate people. I enjoy coming up with creative solutions, juggling different projects, and seeing all the pieces come together. And of course, nothing beats happy clients looking back on a successful event or an unforgettable trip.
What do you value most when working with colleagues and clients?
Open communication, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to achieving the best possible result. I believe it’s important that everyone feels heard, and I think the best projects happen when people complement each other’s strengths, can exchange ideas openly, and genuinely enjoy working together. With clients, I like to build long-term relationships based on personal connection, trust, and genuine involvement.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love playing padel and regularly spend time on the golf course as well. We live by the water, so after a day’s work you’ll often find me swimming, paddleboarding, or taking the boat out for a cruise. We also have a dog, which means I spend plenty of time walking in the woods or along the beach. That’s how I love to spend my free time.

Outside of work, I enjoy films and series, cooking, and dining extensively with friends. Additionally, I enjoy traveling to places in nature and the mountains, where I can truly recharge.

In my free time, I prefer to be outdoors: in the park, the woods, on the beach, or at a pleasant terrace. Additionally, I enjoy being in the kitchen, where I take pleasure in experimenting with cuisines from all over the world. Sometimes the results are surprisingly good… and sometimes a little less so.

Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is an anniversary celebration in Reims, where the group experienced the Champagne region at its best with unique activities and exceptional locations. It was wonderful to see that the trip left a lasting positive memory for the group.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy baking. I find inspiration in cookbooks or recipes I come across on Instagram.

In collaborating with colleagues and clients, I am primarily motivated by an enthusiasm for travel and the sharing of experiences. Developing ideas together and helping people realize a unique experience gives me a great deal of energy.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Traveling is my great passion, and I have now visited more than 100 countries myself, something I am quite proud of. In addition, I enjoy reading, watching films, and fitness. And of course, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our three children, and our dogs.

In doing so, I find it important that guests can fully enjoy themselves without having to worry about a thing; I’m only satisfied when they are. It’s precisely the dynamics of the profession, where you have to be able to switch gears quickly and be prepared for unexpected situations, that makes it extra challenging and fun, and ultimately makes a successful project all the more rewarding. Traveling is also a great passion of mine: new cultures, people, and experiences continue to inspire me.
What sparks your enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
What sparks my enthusiasm when collaborating with colleagues is brainstorming together about a new concept. By combining each other’s knowledge and connections, you constantly discover new locations and activities, which makes the world feel a bit smaller and more accessible. Additionally, we all love to think out of the box with a personal touch, which results in the most beautiful projects and stories. The enthusiastic reactions from clients and the messages in which they show appreciation for our work also give me a lot of satisfaction.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy dancing during my classical ballet lessons. Furthermore, I really enjoy dining out, reading, and traveling. Basically, just enjoying life to the fullest with my loved ones!

In collaborating with colleagues, partners, and clients, I gain energy from working toward a common goal. When all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and a project turns out exactly as intended, I am proud of the team and the collaboration that made it possible. It is precisely by working together and combining different areas of expertise that we can deliver strong and well-thought-out concepts.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is the organization of an international kick-off meeting in Rome. During the preparations, we encountered various challenges, including issues with the hotel and logistics, but we managed to resolve them as a team. This allowed the client to focus entirely on the content and the participants.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I prefer to be outdoors and active. I enjoy taking bike rides through the dunes to the sea and I row weekly in a four or eight-person boat in the early morning. The rhythm of the boat, the water, and nature (and the pleasant crew coffee afterward) make it extra special.

What gives you energy in your work?
I get energy from large, complex requests where everything is still out in the open and the possibilities seem endless. Projects where I can fully immerse myself in and in which I clients can surprise with creative, unexpected proposals. It is precisely that combination of puzzling things out, organising and out-of-the-box thinking gives me a huge amount of energy.
What inspires you in your collaboration with colleagues or clients?
I love co-creation. Working together with colleagues, local partners and clients to develop ideas from an initial, wild concept into a unique and unforgettable experience. It is precisely through this collaboration that the most wonderful plans often emerge.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
Of the many special projects over the past 20 years, one moment really stands out for me: a trip to Jordan. In Wadi Rum, during the Golden Hour, a gleaming black grand piano stood atop a sand dune, with a pianist playing whilst 150 guests, a glass of Arak in hand, watched as the sun slowly disappeared behind the red sand dunes. Music, silence, nature and wonder – a magical moment that no one will ever forget.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Travel remains a big passion of mine in my free time. From a spontaneous city break with friends to a short city break with friends a10> spontaneous city break with friends to backpacking through Asia with my family, I am always up for a bit of adventure. But to be honest: I can just as easily be happy from a a32> simple afternoon on my bike heading towards the beach at Zandvoort. Just getting some fresh air, a drink at a beach bar, sun on your face… that feels just like a mini-break.

What gives you energy in your work?
The fact that I am able to organize projects from A to Z for our clients, each time at a different destination, remains the primary reason why I have enjoyed this work so much for several years. Furthermore, you are constantly collaborating with different cultures and local suppliers to deliver the best possible program. The icing on the cake is, of course, the execution of the meeting, event, or trip at the location itself.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
What makes working at the Barentszen Group particularly special is the bond we build with both clients and colleagues. Because we travel together, a strong and personal relationship develops. Travel connects people in a unique way, and that is what makes this work so special to me.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is the ANVR congress in Oman. The destination was magical, and the venues where the congress days were organized, such as the Royal Opera House, were truly enchanting.
What do we not yet know about you?
I speak four languages fluently, partly because I grew up in a château in the French countryside.

That’s what makes my work so fulfilling.
What inspires you in your collaboration with colleagues or clients?
I love working towards something special as a team and giving it our all together. Open communication, short lines of communication, and a good sense of humour make all the difference to me. I believe the best results come from an environment where everyone can be themselves, support one another, and work together towards a shared goal. That positive energy is contagious, both within the team and in our relationships with clients.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. Whether we’re exploring new places or simply making memories together, that’s what I enjoy most. I’m also a passionate runner and regularly take on marathons. Running gives me energy and helps me clear my mind. And whenever the weather is good, you’ll usually find me firing up the barbecue and enjoying a relaxed evening with family and friends.

What drives me in my work is the moment when the client’s wishes converge into a program and ultimately come to life on location. I gain a great deal of energy from managing the entire process, from start to finish, on behalf of the client.

In my collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am always looking for connection. I find it rewarding when our work truly lightens the load and we can provide genuine added value for our client.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is my very first guided trip with 85 people to Paris. It was quite an experience to navigate the entire program by metro with such a large group for three days. Keeping everyone together and ensuring no one was lost was a challenge, but the mission was successful.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy being creative. I also like to go for walks, preferably combined with discovering new hospitality venues.

The enthusiasm that arises when you work toward a goal together. That collective drive and the feeling that you are creating something beautiful together is what truly motivates me.
Which ‘project’ has stayed with you the most? And why?
“Conference in the bush.” A conference in a large tent, complete with air conditioning and audiovisual facilities, in the middle of the Tanzanian steppes, while the Big Five literally walked around us. Rangers ensured that everything proceeded safely and smoothly. During the coffee break, you looked out over the landscape and saw the animals passing by. An unforgettable experience, both for us as organizers and for the participants.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Or what do we not know about you yet?
I enjoy photography, preferably of people. This may not come as a surprise after my previous answers; ultimately, for me, much revolves around people and their stories.

Which project has stayed with you the most?
There are several projects that have stayed with me, to which various colleagues contributed. One of them was a major event where the client took 600 employees in three chartered planes for a one-day trip to Austria. It felt almost like a military operation that was executed to perfection; it was so special to see participants literally skipping through the snow.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy relaxing by doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and enjoying food and drinks with family and friends. I also love to bake, and to stay in balance, I regularly go for runs across the heath and dive into the swimming pool.

Which project has stayed with you the most?
The Marques event is the one that has stayed with me the most. It was a large-scale event with participants from various countries, and it was special to be able to contribute to it. It was particularly rewarding to see all the happy faces in the end.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy going to a Rocycle class with friends, ideally followed by a coffee in the sun on a terrace. It is the perfect combination of staying active and socializing.

I get energy from working with many different destinations and trips. It is enjoyable to be involved with various places around the world and to build a program around them that suits a group. Ultimately, it is of course extra rewarding to see that the clients have had a great time. This immediately makes you look forward to starting on the next trip.
What motivates you in your collaboration with colleagues or clients?
In collaborating with colleagues, I am primarily motivated by enthusiasm and working together toward a trip as a team. With clients, I particularly appreciate the feeling that you can truly mean something to them and provide them with excellent assistance.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
The trip to the New York City Marathon has stayed with me the most. Many runners participate in this trip, which naturally requires a lot of preparation. That is precisely why it is extra rewarding to hear that everyone finished and had a great time during the trip.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy sports, especially ice skating and running. Sometimes I can also be found at the gym. Additionally, I enjoy having a drink with friends or going into the city together.

Keeping the client happy. I gain energy when everything has run smoothly and when a match or event that was initially considered difficult turns out to be a success.
What inspires you in your collaboration with colleagues or clients?
The fact that everyone shares the same goal and that we bring it to a successful conclusion together. Above all, that we are a team working together without a clear distinction between client and supplier.
Which ‘project’ has stayed with you the most? And why?
There are quite a few, but the highlights included the 1998 Champions League final in Amsterdam, which was my first major project. The 2004 Champions League final in Germany, where we handled everything for both FC Porto and AS Monaco, as well as the 2006 World Cup in Germany, also provided great satisfaction. During the latter, we were on the road with the Spanish national team for a month, which created a wonderful bond.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Trying to spend as much time as possible in the snow and spending time with friends and family. I also thoroughly enjoy cycling through Amsterdam.

In collaborating with colleagues, I prefer working with people who value precision and teamwork. I am energized by solving challenges together, especially under time pressure. In client relations, I find it important to build trust by being reliable, flexible, and proactive.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is working with AC Milan, my favorite club. After multiple collaborations, a great relationship has developed with their travel department and various team members. This makes the work even more enjoyable, especially when there is room for an informal connection alongside professionalism.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and spending a lot of time with my growing family.

I derive a great deal of energy from advising and supporting our athletes and supporters from start to finish. By providing peace of mind and confidence, I allow them to focus entirely on their goals. When they finally cross the finish line, filled with pride and emotion, you know exactly why you do it.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
In my collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am primarily driven by personal contact and trust. I believe it is important to truly listen and contribute ideas, ensuring that individuals feel heard and know they can rely on us. When everyone feels involved and we work together toward the same objective, everything runs just that bit more smoothly.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is supporting athletes on their journey to the New York City Marathon. You share the experience with participants for months and ultimately witness pride, relief, and emotion converge as they cross the finish line. Because you know their personal stories, it almost feels as if you have run part of the way with them yourself.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy staying active. I love traveling and discovering new places, but I am also frequently found on the sports field. Running, padel, and volleyball provide both relaxation and energy.

Standing at the starting line feeling rested and full of adrenaline: that is what I do it for. In my work at the Barentszen Group, and specifically as Project Manager at Marathons International, I gain energy from providing peace of mind. The idea that both runners and supporters can enjoy a unique and carefree marathon experience thanks to us motivates me every day.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
In collaboration with colleagues and clients, for me, it is all about working together toward the same goal. Building something bigger together, keeping each other sharp, and celebrating successes. That dynamic (planning, coordinating, and finding solutions) is what makes my work so enjoyable.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
Projects that have stayed with me include the marathon trips to Berlin and New York. Those are the moments where months of preparation come together and you see happy, tense, and proud faces at the start and the finish. Knowing that you played a role in that is priceless.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Outside of my work, sports play a major role in my life. I graduated in Sports Marketing & Management and am currently training for my next goal: an Ironman 70.3.

The collaboration with colleagues also gives me a great deal of energy. We all share the same drive and are fully committed together. As a result, it truly feels like a team where you can count on one another.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is my first guided trip to the Athens Marathon. After working primarily in the back office at Marathons International for a year and a half, I was given the opportunity to lead this marathon trip in 2024. It was special to experience the entire process and hear all the runners’ stories. That moment when everything comes together made the experience complete for me.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing sports as well as cooking and baking. Additionally, I enjoy long dinners with friends and family and taking fun, creative trips together.

I am particularly energized when all the pieces of the puzzle suddenly fall into place after a brainstorm. When a vague idea takes shape and eventually grows into a plan and then reality. “I love it when a plan comes together.”
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A moment that has stayed with me is an evening in the Swiss mountains. In the moonlight, we walked with a group from the lift station to a privatized mountain hut, while the sound of alphorns slowly swelled. Months of preparation culminated there; it was a goosebumps moment. A festive evening in an atmospheric Icelandic farmhouse also remains a highlight, with the beautiful Northern Lights as the icing on the cake.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In addition to an active family life with two children, I enjoy listening to music and spending time on DIY projects and sports, such as tennis, running, and mountain biking.

Which project made you feel: something special happened here?
The repositioning process of our brands is what stayed with me the most. We took a fresh look at who we are, why we do what we do, and how that is reflected in our communication. It required a lot of work, which made it even more rewarding to see the results take shape and to witness everyone’s growing enthusiasm.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy photography, preferably in nature or while traveling.

What gives you energy in your work?
I primarily draw energy from creating content for our brands and concepts. Conveying atmosphere and experience through visuals and storytelling, so that others can almost experience it themselves, is the part of my work I enjoy most.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
In collaborations with colleagues and clients, I am energized by sharing ideas, receiving feedback, and working together to achieve a stronger final result. Sometimes clients provide their own content, which allows us to truly work together on something beautiful.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
The repositioning of our brands has stayed with me the most. It is a challenge to properly align our content with the new corporate identity and style, but I find that creative process of contributing ideas and developing plans particularly interesting and educational.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy attending events such as Feyenoord matches, concerts, and festivals. Seeking out experience and atmosphere is something I find incredibly enjoyable, both in my professional and private life.

What drives me in my work at the BARENTSZEN GROUP are my colleagues. We have an incredibly fun, diverse, and international team that brings out the best in each other. That collaboration and energy motivate me every single day.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
In my collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am energized by our collective pursuit of quality. With passion and commitment, we work together to achieve the finest possible result for the client.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is the Marques Event in The Hague. It was a fantastic project involving the entire team, where our collaboration truly shone.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy being creative, from embroidery to renovating and fixing up my house, and everything in between. And something you might not know yet: inspired by the athleticism of our Marathons International colleagues, I have taken up running again.

What drives you in your work? What gives you energy?
What drives me is building the company and creating value. At BARENTSZEN GROUP, many elements converge: international projects, strategy, and people. I particularly gain energy from situations that appear complex, which we then manage to transform into a concrete result as a team.
What inspires you in your collaboration with colleagues or clients?
For me, collaboration is about trust, openness, and ambition. I prefer working with people who take responsibility, show initiative, and want to build something together that is greater than individual interests. Regarding clients, I believe it is important that we are not just a supplier, but a true partner. It gives me great satisfaction when we can collectively elevate a project and provide the client with complete peace of mind.
Which ‘project’ has stayed with you the most? And why?
The projects that stay with me most, from my perspective of financial oversight, are usually those that seem almost impossible at first glance. For example, international events where logistics, timing, and expectations must align perfectly. When it ultimately succeeds and everything falls into place, it provides an enormous amount of energy.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? OR What do we not yet know about you?
In my spare time, I am very involved in sports, even if you might not immediately think so…. Boxing is a great way for me to clear my head and stay sharp. Additionally, I can often be found at the show jumping arenas, as my daughter is active in equestrian show jumping.

What gives you energy in your work?
What gives me the most energy in my work at the BARENTSZEN GROUP is collaborating with our team. Creating beautiful projects together, strengthening one another, and seeing everyone grow in their respective roles. It is motivating to achieve something together that we are proud of, resulting in happy and satisfied clients who are pleased to return to us.
What inspires you when collaborating with colleagues or clients?
In collaboration with colleagues and clients, I am particularly energized by going that extra mile together. Working with a committed team toward the best result and seeing how ideas converge into a strong project gives me a great deal of energy.
Which project has stayed with you the most?
A project that has stayed with me is a Christmas event for the entire RAI Amsterdam team, involving approximately 650 colleagues. We flew together to Salzburg to visit the Christmas market and then traveled on to Leogang for various snow activities. To conclude, we organized a large après-ski party. It was an impressive logistical project where everything came together, and a wonderful example of what a close-knit team can achieve together.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, watching good films, and enjoying fine food with friends and family. My guilty pleasure is binge-watching exciting series; if a series is truly good, I find it difficult to stop watching.
